VHenry&Co. was founded by Thomas Bennett in 2009. Tom is a business lawyer, company director and consultant. He practiced corporate and finance law in the ‘magic circle’ in The City of London and holds a higher business degree from the University of Oxford (Saïd Business School). Tom has invaluable experience of a number of sectors including finance, financial services, aviation and defence, shipping, engineering, logistics, security, information and intelligence and professional services.

He is a director and shareholder of several companies, and has especial legal and commercial experience of working with start ups and SMEs; information and maritime security companies; finance and financial regulatory matters; corporate, mergers and acquisitions, commercial law; and technology platforms of all sorts. Having been a senior lawyer (and assistant company treasurer) at Rolls-Royce Group PLC, he was General Counsel and Commercial Director to (what is now) an AIM Listed business and was a business consultant and legal adviser at Protection Group International (which grew from a startup to a business with a £62m turnover in four years).

Tom has significant legal and practical expertise in company, banking and corporate finance, financial regulation and commercial law; tax-based investments (SEIS and EIS for example)and investment funds; cross border (and cloud) data protection law; information and cyber security law. In 2012 he was a visiting lecturer of maritime security law at the World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden. He is an ISO 27001 Lead Auditor and (amongst others) the legal adviser to (and part of the advisory team) at Templar Executives Limited, which was recently awarded ‘Best Cyber Security Firm’ at the European CEO Awards.
